Parade to Celebrate Armed Forces Day

A marching parade took place last Saturday to commemorate Armed Forces Day at the Guildhall giving us the best seat in the house.

Leading the parade were the RAF marching band followed by 118 Recovery Company (REME) who were exercising their freedom of the borough whilst celebrating 50 years of being based in Northampton. Hundreds of serving troops, veterans and cadets were also taking part.

The mayor of Northampton, councillor Gareth Eales and the lord lieutenant, Mr David Laing both spoke to the troops and well wishers before there was line music on the Market Square and display of military vehicles.
