The age of the quality gentleman’s outfitters/ tailors is not dead, certainly not in Northampton where Montague Jeffery provide a range of exceptionally good clothing for all occasions, business, casual , formal, it is the place I prefer to shop. My requirements are always fulfilled, the service provided comes from qualified and competent staff, they are able to recognise their customers needs, provide the solution, making the Montague Jeffery “experience” one to be happily remembered. Service with a smile, and customer recognition is a value added rarity within the retail industry in the 21st century, long may it continue at Montague Jeffery.
It is unusual in a town such as Northampton to find a specialist Men’s Outfitters with such a variety of quality menswear, both traditional and “trendy”, and with this accompanied by first class service and attention to detail I must, as a regular customer, commend both shop and service on this basis, and have always been well pleased with both!
I am happy to be a customer of any establishment where choice, quality, price and service is of excellent standard, and Montague Jeffery is one such shop that will continue to receive my custom.
I have been a customer of Montague Jeffery for nearly 40 years, & I have bought some amazing clothes during that time, one particular item I still wear is a dress waistcoat in red with a gold Chinese dragon pattern on it, everywhere I wear it, comments are made on how wonderful it looks, even by Captains on Cruise Ships we have travelled on, I always tell them where I bought it, & I can honestly say that the Staff are the Friendliest you could find anywhere.
I am always checking the windows for new things, & drop in to say hello to all the Staff, even my Son’s Wedding Suit was bought here, which everyone admired, there are very few fine shops around now, but Montague Jeffery is one of them.
I am emailing you after today visiting your shop [...]. We were assisted in the shop by Tony Wiesner. I purchased two suits, a shirt and a tie.
I already knew you sell high quality merchandise but am sending this email to express both my [...] appreciation and thanks to Tony for providing really helpful advice, assistance and good manners to us.
I work in a job that requires me to wear suits every day and Tony did all he could to ensure I got the right ones with just the right touch of formality. He also went out of his way to help us manage our baby who needed a nappy change!
It was Tony’s experience and that really made the difference. He knows everything about his profession and guided us admirably.
Its becoming increasingly rare to meet a true professional; but we met one at MJ today! I am now a regular customer!

It is such a pleasure to have a gentleman’s outfitters in Northampton where one can rely on a personal service. The staff remember your size and can make sincere and honest recommendations as to the suitability of any item chosen. The range and quality of shirts, ties, suites and overcoats make Montague Jeffrey my first choice every time. This type of establishment I would only have expected to find in central London.

Wonderful service. It is pleasing to know that personal service is still alive in Northampton. With a tight deadline, a complete outfit was chosen, adjusted and delivered in under 2 hours. My jacket arrived today and I am absolutely thrilled with. It is indeed a very sharp looking jacket. When I first saw Matt wearing this version I didn’t particularly care for it, but now it’s my favourite. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it’s a lighter weight material. I like that because it means I will be able to wear it into the warmer months, which means I’ll be able to wear it most of the year and get plenty of use out of it.
The jacket length, shoulders, etc, appear to be perfect again. It is slightly large around my midsection, but not nearly as big as the dogstooth jacket. I plan to take it for a fitting on Saturday and will likely have it slightly reduced. The second tailor who altered the dogstooth did an outstanding job, so I have complete confidence that he can properly adjust this one as well. He’s quick, so I’m sure it will be ready in time for my wife to present me on Christmas morning.
Speaking of which, I wanted to thank you for how quickly you were able to produce this jacket. I came in well ahead of schedule. You’ve helped make this the best Christmas. I have been invited to a party New Year’s Eve hosted by some friends-of-friends. Apparently the gentleman, whom I’ve never met, is a huge Doctor Who fan. I will be able to debut this jacket at his party and surprise him. He should be impressed.

After I have this jacket adjusted I’ll send you some new photos of both this jacket and the altered dogstooth so you can see how sharp they look (now that the dogstooth is properly fitted, it looks even better then it did when I first received it). I hope to be able to do business with you again. If Matt debuts a new Tweed jacket in series 7, I will be contacting you ASAP to see if you can get the material. I’ll also check back with you in the Sprint to see if the mill has produced more of the donegal cloth. I will definitely be visiting Great Britain again, and if I find myself in Northampton, I will stop by to thank you in person.

Dear Sir , Today I bought a suit from you & I must mention the courtesy & understanding that your staff afforded me ! They were marvellous ! I do have communication issues following illness & it was a big deal for me to go in to the shop , I have bought small items from you in the past ,
but after looking at your web-site and seeing many testimonials I took the plunge ! I did not need to have worried , Tony Wiesner looked after me wonderfully .
